The ISTE standard that I feel most comfortable with is "facilitate and inspire student learning and creativity". I have grown up in an era consumed with technology and I am used to having it at my fingertips as a tool to you to my advantage at any given time. That being said, I feel very comfortable demonstrating to others how to use it in daily life well. Another standard that I feel comfortable with is "model digital age work and learning". I am very accustomed to the technology required for school work and I believe it is very similar to that which a teacher would use. Therefore, I feel qualified to use the technology necessary to effectively use classroom technology in a professional way. Standards that I would need more learning for are ones like "design and develop digital age learning experiences and assessments". This seems like a daunting task for me because I do not feel quite confident enough in my technology skills to be being inventive with them in the classroom.

I would like to use many technologies/softwares discussed in chapter 9. The idea of not just introducing the students to normal search engines, such as Google, but showing them educational search engines is a great idea to broaden their technological horizons. I don't want to teach with too many power-point styled classes but when necessary I think  "Prezi" is a great software to use to make the learning more fun, exciting, and visually pleasing. As for digital citizenship; I think "netiquette" is a great thing to teach to your students. In this day and age technology can be so misused and there is often even a problem with "cyber-bullying". I think it would be awesome if we could teach kids what to do and what not to do at a young age when it comes to technology. I would like to teach kindergarten someday so a lot of this is hard to apply to them. Perhaps at their age, simply exemplifying and encouraging good morals will hopefully cause them to have better "netiquette" and be quality digital citizens in the future.

From the newsletter assignment I learned many things that I hadn't known before. I thought I had a pretty solid understanding of how to use Word and make folders but things like "zipping folders" and making fancy side text-boxes were brand new to me. I liked how we learned how to make it look nice and not just black and white words on a paper. That will be valuable to know in the future, especially with my future hopes of being a kindergarten teacher. Their young age requires the teacher to be in communication with the parents very often and knowing how to make an effective newsletter will be very useful.
